So I finally got onto a proper football pitch in a proper football ground, although this wasn’t some late and unexpected blooming of my pro sport career but a challenge taken up as part of the Documentary Photography course that I’m currently halfway through at Zoom In. In a week the idea was to cover portrait, work & leisure and relationship. This is from the work & leisure part having already covered off the portrait with the local rough-sleeping juggler and relationship with my two boys chasing each other round the garden.

My thanks to Alan Calder and Andy Leese at Chesham United for putting up with a rather bewildered fellow – albeit one older than all the players – snapping away with a battered old camera loaded with the ever-wonderful Kodak TriX.

Now comes a proper ‘photo story’. More, no doubt, to follow. Until then this one is large here.
