Up for the Cup in the mud at Crossleys. I caught twenty or so minutes of this Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup Semi Final between Chalfont St Giles’s finest and the boys from … Oxfordshire. Clearly this Berkshire, Buckinghamshire trophy is open to foreign elements. But anyway the natives’ pride is intact as the local emerged from the gloop 4-1 winners and head into the final. I saw two goals and many, many sliding tackles and then headed over to Chesham only to find that the Generals match against Evesham wasn’t going ahead. Waterlogged, no doubt. They really should have looked at this pitch and reconsidered.
